Scores of candidates today sat for the 2019 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination in various centres in Ibadan.
Radio Nigeria correspondent, who monitored the exercise, observed that the exam commenced as early as 8 o’clock in the morning.
Some of the centres visited in the metropolis included Distance Learning Cbt Center, UI, JAMB office, Idi-Ape and Educational Advancement Center, Bodija.
Radio Nigeria also observed that in one of the centers at Bodija there was delay in the biometric verification of candidates.
In an interview, the zonal coordinator of JAMB in Oyo State, Mr. Olusola Kuye said delay in biometric verification of candidates might be due to wet fingers, stressing that adequate arrangements had been made to address hitches that might occur during the week-long exercise.
Mr. Kuye said the errors of wrongs allocation of candidates to computer based test centres made some years ago was due to insufficient centres.
Two parents, Pastor Timothy Adejare and Mr. Steven Adeokun appealed to the agency to ensure that subsequent exams do not collide with other exams such as the on-going West Africa Senior School Certificate Examination.
Some of the students interviewed said the computers functioned effectively.
