Oyo state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has called for the review of corps members monthly allowance to boost their morale in the one year mandatory national service.
He made the call in a message to the terminal parade for 2019 batch A corps members posted to Oyo State at the permanent Orientation camp Iseyin.
The governor who explained that the state government gives stipends to support the corps members noted that the review of the monthly allowance is expedient in view of the current economic realities and the new minimum wage.
Represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mr. Abayomi Oke, Governor Ajimobi enjoined the corps members to be diligent, dedicated and law abiding.
In an address of welcome, Oyo State Coordinator, NYSC, Mrs. Eniola Ambekemo stated that Two Thousand Four Hundred And Fifty One corps members participated in the three weeks orientation course noted that majority of them would serve in schools.
Mrs. Ambekemo, implored corps employers to integrate them into the work schedule of their organizations and provide them welfare packages for optimum performance.
