Journalists Should Promote Indigenous Sports – Hon. Olatunbosun

A member representing Atisbo, Saki East and Saki West in the House of Representatives, Chief Olajide Olatunbosun has stressed the need for sports journalists to give adequate publicity to promotion of indigenous sports as tool for reducing youth unemployment.

Chief Olatunbosun said this in a message to the recently held Ramadan lecture of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Oyo State chapter.

He pointed out that, sports writers as stakeholders in the Nigerian project, should report activities of local sports effectively, with a view to discovering talents.

The federal lawmaker noted that talents discovered at the sports programmes would be tools for national development.

Chief Olatunbosun enjoined Muslim faithful to use the Ramadan period to pray for President Muhammadu Buhari and the incoming leadership of the Ninth Assembly to ensure a smooth administration.

The federal lawmaker assured people of Atisbo, Saki East and Saki West  constituency of more dividends of democracy, especially empowerment of youths through sports and vocational training.
