Members of Sports Writers’ Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Oyo State Chapter, have been assured of obtaining their international passports and ECOWAS traveling documents with utmost ease whenever the need arises, especially for urgent international assignments.

Comptroller, Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, Oyo State Command, Mr. Saleh Abdullahi, gave the assurance while playing host to the executives and members of the state chapter of SWAN, led by its chairman, Olaolu Fawole on a courtesy call on the command.

Mr. Abdullahi emphasised that the service has been playing prominent roles in the promotion and development of sports in Nigeria.

He said the service and sports journalists are partners working for the advancement of sports in the country, hence the need to support SWAN members towards encouraging adequate reportage of sports in Oyo State and Nigeria.

Earlier, chairman, Oyo SWAN, Olaolu Fawole said the visit was part of the association’s ongoing engagement with various stakeholders towards rejuvenating sports in Oyo state.

Fawole also revealed that Oyo SWAN is putting various activities and games together to further raise the bar of sports in the state.

Also speaking, Sports Coordinator, Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, Oyo State Command, Assistant Comptroller Immigration, Isa-Agaka Sulaiman, who disclosed that the current first choice goalkeeper of Nigeria National Hockey Team is a staff of the service, emphasised that the command do engage in a bi weekly jogging exercise to keep men and officers of the command in good health and mental alertness.
