The Ekiti State Government has given financial assistance of over two million naira to 19 victims of fire disaster across the 16 local governments.
Each of the beneficiaries received one hundred and twenty naira cash to provide relief for them and identify with them in their time of need.
Presenting the cash to the beneficiaries in Ado Ekiti, the Deputy Governor, Otunba Bisi Egbeyemi, sympathized with them on the loss of their property.
He promised that the Kayode Fayemi administration would continue to prioritize the welfare of people in the state.
Otunba Egbeyemi urged residents of the state to be more careful in handling electrical appliances and prevent anything that could cause fire
outbreak in their areas.
The General Manager, Ekiti State Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Olajide Borode, observed that the gesture was aimed at bringing succour to the people.
Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Chief Johnson Ogunleye, from Iroko Ekiti in Ijero Local Government, appreciated the state government for the gesture, which he described as very timely.
