Ekiti to Accelerate Infrastructure Development, Check Quackery

Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi has restated government commitment to harness various opportunities that will accelerate the infrastructural and industrial development of the state.

Governor  Fayemi, who spoke at the opening  session of the 2019 Africa Investment  Forum Nigeria Roadshow  programme held in Abuja, said his administration would continue to make the environment conducive for business to thrive.

The governor noted that government  had constituted a high-level  committee  to identify  ways to improve  business  environment  in the state.

The Ekiti helmsman described the road show as an important  step at ensuring  that Nigeria and Africa accelerate its infrastructure  and industrial  development.

He submitted that the programme would avail both government  and private sector institutions the opportunity  to present innovative and tangible  projects  that would enable Nigeria to achieve her feat in the global.

Meanwhile,  the state government has expressed its readiness to weed off quackery among the medical and health practitioners in the state.

Commissioner for Health and Human Services Dr. Mojisola Yahaya Kolade gave the assurance while inaugurating Medical and Health Practices Regulation Taskforce in Ado Ekiti.

Dr Kolade noted that the taskforce has become necessary in order to sanitize the health sector.

She explained that menace of medical quackery has gotten to an alarming and embarrassing level in the country.

She said  parts of the job of Taskforce was to facilitate the sanctions and prosecutions of offenders.

Some of the members of the inaugurated task force were selected from professional associations, Medical Consultant Associations, Association of Government Medical Practitioners of Nigeria, Nigeria Police Force and other relevant associations.
