The Managing Director, Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA, Mr. Nurudeen Rafindadi and the Southwest Management Team of the Agency have visited some federal roads in Ekiti State with a view to fixing the bad portions in line with the vision of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.
At a meeting with Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi in Ado-Ekiti, Mr. Rafindadi explained that the visit was to know the state of roads across the Southwest, especially Ekiti State.
He observed that despite the paucity of fund, FERMA would continue to prioritize the rehabilitation of roads, to boost the nation’s economy.
In a remark, Ekiti State Governor Dr Kayode Fayemi, represented by the Deputy Governor, Otunba BISI Egbeyemi described the conditions of federal roads in Ekiti as worrisome and called on the agency to urgently intervene.
Governor Fayemi, who explained that good roads remained one of the keys to boost economy and attract investors to Ekiti, urged the agency to always consider Ekiti in its scheme of things.
He therefore drew the attention of the agency to some of the federal roads that required urgent attention to include Ado-Ikare, Ikere -Akure, Aramoko_ Iwaraja and Efon to Ilesha in Osun state.
