Oyo State Governor,Engineer Seyi Makinde has admonished nine hundred intending pilgrims from the state to pray for way out of the challenges facing Nigeria while in Saudi Arabia.
Governor Makinde gave the admonition during a farewell ceremony for the pilgrims in the state at the Hajj Camp,Olodo, Ibadan.
Addresing the gathering, Governor Makinde urged the intending pilgrims to shun any temptation to do anything against the tenets of performing hajj.
Governor Makinde equally enjoined the pilgrims to be good ambassadors of the pacesetter state while in the holy land.
In a welcome address, Chairman Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare board, Professor Sayed Malik while lauding governor Makinde for his support to the board, pointed out that intending pilgrims had a reduction of fifty-one thousand naira in this year hajj fare.
Professor Malik promised that those performing hajj from the state would be well taken care of in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In a remark, Oyo State Amiru hajj and the Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland Edo and Delta, Alhaji Daud Makanjuola said he would put necessary measures in place to ensure a hitch hajj operation.
Two of the intending pilgrims in an interview with Radio Nigeria commended the state government for putting round peg in the round hole in the composition of the board, which according to them assisted greatly on Pre- hajj preparation.
They pledged to abide with the rules and regulation guiding the hajj operation.
On the entourage of the governor include his wife, Ominini Makinde, Deputy Governor’s wife, Dr Bola Olaniyan and other top government functionaries.
