The Ondo State House of Assembly has called on all stakeholders to rise up to their responsibilities in curbing insecurity in Ondo State and Nigeria as a whole.
The lawmakers at a plenary presided over by the Speaker, Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun condemned the killing of Mrs Olufunke Olakunri, the late daughter of Pa Reuben Fasoranti.
The lawmakers condoled with the family and government of Ondo State over the loss.
The Majority Leader, Mr Jamiu Maito, who decried the rate of criminal activities in the country, called for practical solutions to nip criminality in the bud in the society.
Speaking on the situation, some lawmakers, Rev. Samuel Akinroboye,, Dr. Olayemi Adeyemi and Mrs Favour Tomomewo moved for the deployment of coordinated local hunters and vigilante groups to collaborate with the security agencies to ensure security of lives and property.
Responding, the Speaker, Mr Bamidele Oleyelogun maintained that the House would not relent in reducing the menace of kidnapping, banditry and other crimes, urging the Inspector General of Police to arrest the perpetrators of the killing of late Mrs Olufunke Olakunri.
