Update: Gov. Makinde Assigns Portfolios to Commissioners

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has assigned portfolios to the fourteen commissioners who are to man various ministries in the state.

Former Speaker of the state’s House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Kehinde Ayoola is the Commissioner for Environment , Ministry of Budget and Planning was assigned to Mr Adeniyi Farinto, Mr Adebisi Adeniyi, Commerce while Mr Muyiwa Ojekunle would man Ministry of Agriculture.

Professor Oyelowo Oyewo is now the Commisioner for Justice, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun was picked as the Commissioner for Information while the only female among the commissioners, Mrs Funmilayo Orisadeyi was assigned the portfolio of Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.

Also, Mr Olasunkanmi Olaleye was choosen as Commissioner for Establishment, Mr Seun Asamu, Commissioner for Energy and Mr Rahman  AbdulRaheem would oversee the Ministry of Land

Others are chief Bayo Lawal as Commissioner for Special Duties, Dr Bashir Bello is the Commissioner for Health, Proffesor Daud Sangodoyin,   Commissioner for Education and Mr Akinola Ojo as Commissioner for Finance.

Addressing the gathering, Governor Makinde said the new commissioners were selected to support his dream for the state, in line with his inaugural speech to make the state better from where he met it.

Governor Makinde urged the commissioners to put the state first in their dealings so as to take it to greater heights.

Speaking on behalf of others, Commissioner for Information, Dr Wasiu Olatunbosun while appreciating Governor Makinde for their selection, promised that they would dedicate themselves to the task of building a virile Oyo state.
