Xenophobia: Cocoa Shopping Mall on Lockdown

Following fear of reprisal attacks as a result of xenophobic crisis in South Africa, movements at cocoa shopping mall Dugbe, Ibadan were this morning restricted as security personnel were seen around the premises to prevent break down of law and order.

The tensed security situation was to prevent attack on the mall owned by South African businessmen.

Radio Nigeria observed that stern looking security personnel from Nigeria Police, Nigerian army, Civil Defence and DSS, were at strategic positions around the cocoa mall.

As at the time of filing this report, gates leading to the premises of the shopping mall were under lock.
