Universities in Nigeria will thrive when enabling environment is created and government focused on regulatory functions.
Professor Joseph Borode of The Federal University of Technology, Akure, FUTA made the submission in Akure, the Ondo State capital, while delivering FUTA 84th inaugural lecture.
The Lecture is tagged: “Materials sine qua non for National Development”.
The professor, who harped on the need for transparency towards the privatization of some national processing industries, stressed that such move must be executed urgently and ensures that the process reached a logical end.
He pointed that functional collaboration between the nation’s tertiary institutions and industrial sectors would fast track national development.
